Welcome to our first blog post.
We thought, since this was our first blog post, we'd start by explaining the reason for our existence!
When Paul and Matt were working at one of the biggest players in the industry, they could see the issues that their employer faced in relation to managing the quantity of data coming out of a village. Information was either held manually (on paper forms) or across multiple digital platforms that couldn't speak to each other. This led to an increase in the number of back-office staff needed to maintain and update this data, which reduced the profitability of the business as a whole. They knew there had to be a better way, which would enable the industry to thrive, and for residents to get better value for their money.
At that time (around 2010), technology was still (relatively) expensive to use, cloud storage was costly and not secure, and the majority of residents (and even staff) were very technology averse.
However, the idea was there, and they slowly worked on it. All the while the world did what it always did, and that is progress at a rapid rate! By 2017, the development of new technologies had come down dramatically, cloud storage was commonplace and more secure, and more and more residents were technology-aware, with mobile phones and computers to stay in touch with their family members.
Paul and Matt, having no experience launching an application, tapped Marty on the shoulder for help. Marty could see the potential for Array straight away and gladly jumped on board in 2018. As we approach our first release later in May, we reflect on our key values of win-win-win. We will only do something if we can see it being a win for all parties involved (us, our customers, and our customer's customers - the residents).
Therefore, we are very proud of what we have produced so far, and look forward to sharing the journey with you as we build out Array and change the industry for good.
